I was a little unsure about whether or not to invest in Solar energy.
A very good friend of mine (Graham) did a stack of research and came up with NxtGen as a prospective supplier. To cut a long story short, I opted for a 12 panel system plus inverter etc. All ordered with NxtGen.
Once order underway, I was kept appraised at all stages as to what would happen and when. I did have, what I would describe as a couple of quite minor hiccups. I spoke to Kelly (the superstar in my book) who, as if by magic, Kelly made the hiccups disappear

I dealt with Steve who was extremely helpful and attentive throughout in guiding me to the correct (and not the most expensive) setup to meet our needs. Solar PV installation by Nxtgen Energy
We had pretty much written off the hope that we could have Solar PV installed on our residential Park Home after being let down by the ” Solar Together” scheme and their chosen installer. I had done my research but as soon as I mentioned “Park Home ” all the companies I contacted effectively said it couldn’t be done!
Nxtgen Energy was recommended to us recently. We, as many other park home owners are resold our (very expensive ) electricity by the park owner at a commercial
tariff ( so no Ofgem price cap for us ) The fact that we were resold our electricity was the stumbling block we met with pretty every company we contacted. I contacted Nxtgen Energy and Bobby Barnes at Nxtgen reassured us that our installation could be done and done economically. He very quickly produced an excellent quotation that met our needs with easy to understand realistic predictions on the performance of the system. Four weeks after our first contact our solar PV and battery system is installed and generating our electricity. The scaffolding for the installation was done in house and the installation team were both knowledgeable and professional. I can unreservedly recommend Nxtgen Energy for your solar PV project and particularly recommend them for Park Home owners who often pay much more than other households for their electricity. This fact makes the installation of solar PV on park homes an even greater, cost effective solution to high energy bills.

So I have been searching for a good solar company for a while and after getting quotes from other companies Nxtgenenergy came out on top so I thought I give them a call. I was not disappointed they have given me a very good price for very good quality service and products. If you are considering installing a solar panel and battery system you should definitely give this company ago. My faith in getting great service has been restored when I used NXTGEN energy.
From the very beginning talking to Steve the consultant in my area who was very knowledgeable and offered to quote like for like so I could compare systems and prices fairly. The purchasing on line was easy and straightforward. Once the permissions were received the installation date was agreed and a few days later Nxtgen scaffolding team arrived bright and early and put up the scaffolding ( on a Saturday). They were great and within 2 hours had the complete scaffold erected. On the Monday the electrical team and panel team arrived to install the system, 11 panels, inverter and 2 batteries and water booster.
Harrison, Louie, Craig and Aden worked as a team and installed the complete system in one day. Harrison was very helpful
and commissioned the system and explained how the system worked. These teams are a credit to Nxtgen and were true expert tradesmen. I can highly recommend NXTGEN.

After a very pushy local solarā¦
After a very pushy local solar installation company, I had seen NxtGen Energy Limited on Facebook. Did the ādue diligenceā and finally got in touch with Bobby Barnes. Was initially surprised that he wasnāt concerned about having a site visit (he was aware several had been before). Had specific requirements set down by our site owner (and me). Black panels, Big battery, enclosure for the inverter & battery units. Nothing fazed him, within a few hours he had calculated our needs and what could be fitted, came back with a quote that was acceptable to both parties (yes, some haggling and changes to quote).
3 weeks of discussions to get our DNO (?) number, not NxtGenās fault, and we had a date.
Scaffolding up on Saturday on our bungalow (health and safety says so) took 2hrs 15mins front and back done. Installation took place Wednesday and Thursday that week, scaffolding down on the Saturday (just over an hour). Scaffolders were quick and considerate of our very small cul-de-sac, everything cleared up quick.
The two installers were meticulous, tidy and worked well together. Was not rushed and all my minor questions and āpickyā install requirements were taken on board and done to my satisfaction. Only the software updates for the battery and hybrid inverter delayed the install by an hour or two, but they didnāt leave until after we proved system was fully functional and I understood the monitoring app on my (and now my wifeās) phones.

Faultless from start to finish. Couldn’t have received a better service!
I started looking into solar panels and a battery and stumbled across NXTGEN from Facebook. I reached out to them and dealt with Bobby, Bobby is incredibly knowledgeable and a genuinely nice guy. He answered lots of questions, designed multiple options for me, but most of all he listened and offered his professional opinion.
Unlike other companies I spoke to Bobby understood why we wanted solar, why we wanted the GivEnergy battery and our budget to design a system that would work brilliantly.
NXTGEN offered a personal service rather than the generic 4 bed hour is 12 or 16 panels etc, they listen and come up with the best solution.
After we settled on the set-up we were passed to Kelly. Kelly handled all the admin side and seemed to always want to help.
There were no delays on NXTGENs side and managed to get all our certificates etc quicker than expected.
Once it was all agreed, deposit paid etc it came onto the installation.
NXTGENs scaffolding arm came and put up the scaffolding on Wednesday, lovely chaps all very polite , respectful and friendly.
Thursday the solar team turned up and set straight to work fitting the 20 panels, inverter and battery. Yet again, a lovely bunch of guys who were all polite, respectful and friendly. It was a two day install and they completed it on Friday. They showed me the whole system got it all up and running, apps connected etc.
I would genuinely recommend them to everyone and have already passed on their details to my work and friends. They offer a great service at a very competitive price.
Solar feels like the new double glazing sales where you get pestered and pushed into options. However that is completely not how NXTGEN operate, they are the complete opposite.
We opted for 20 panels, 5kwh inverter and a 9.6kwh battery. While the inverter is slightly undersized, we achieve great energy even in cloudy conditions, we only lose out on super sunny days and it wasn’t worth for us to get the bigger more expensive inverter.

We initially used NxtGen for our consultation and this went really well. NxtGen then subcontracted to Cozy Energy, which again was fine. The installation went well. It was then that things started to go awry. Cozy failed to supply us with a guarantee, MPAN or MCS certificate. Over a period of approximately six months, we were promised that “this was being dealt with”, or “someone would get back to us”, but nothing was resolved. It was then that we re contacted NxtGen and they could not have been more helpful. Whilst it did take a while, all of the issues have been resolved and Kelly at NxtGen could not have been more helpful. I would thoroughly recommend NxtGen.

Great Solar Installation
After searching for local companies and obtaining quotes for our installation we found NXTGEN Energy to be highly competitive, easy to communicate with and having the advantage of a scaffolding team as well as the panel installers.
Our link was Bobby Barnes who worked with us to maximise what we could get for our budget and located smaller solar panels to fit onto a limited roof space yet still produce a good output (7 panels producing up to 3kW).
Within a week of agreeing the specification the scaffolding was up, panels installed and then scaffolding down. We couldn’t have asked for a smoother process.
Everyone in the company we communicated with was really helpful (especially Kelly in Accounts) making the whole process stress free.

To me the main issue was a high quality installation, and they delivered that.
I did my homework, shopped around, many competitors tried to put them down saying they are just a scaffolding company, but the results were excellent.
Try asking this company the really detailed questions about battery, inverter and panel combinations with logical strategy behind it, many floundered beyond the basic specs.
Bobby at NXTGEN is in a different league, he has a thorough, detailed understanding of what you need. I trusted him and he delivered exactly what he said he would.
Add that to the install team who were polite, friendly, helpful and hard working, I am very happy with the results.

Frequently Asked Questions about Solar Panels

The answer depends on how much you pay for the solar panels, how much your electricity would otherwise cost, how much green energy the panels make from the sunshine you get, and whether you have a battery installed or not. The industry standard for most solar panels’ lifespans is 25 to 30 years. Most reputable manufacturers offer production warranties for 25 years or more. The average break even point for solar panel energy savings occurs six to 10 years after installation.
Whilst there is no hard and fast rule as to how much value solar panels can add to the overall value of your property, suggestions range from 4% to 14% on average and they are certainly unlikely to detract from the value of your home, even if they aren’t the most attractive feature visually.
